Every month Signs Of Silence will feature a deaf or hh person for the month. People like to talk about themselves so here's your chance to get to know the people we serve in our community. We believe opportunities happen the more we get to know you as an individual. We also believe that deaf or hh people do not have a disability but rather strengths and abilities that make you who you are. October’s SPOTLIGHT IS ON: Mike Covington

Mike Covington is our Vice President. We first met Mikey Boy (as we call him) when he was a freshman in High School. Mike is hard of hearing. He was born in Orange County on Feb 1st (we won’t tell you his age, he’s self conscious, haha). Let’s just say he is young and has a bright future. Mike enjoys the outdoors like hiking and camping and beach things. He also loves sports like any normal guy living in Southern California. He currently works at Hoehn Acura in Carlsbad. He’s been there close to 6 years and has done very well there. His favorite NFL Team is the Rams. He also likes bowling and usually rocks, great bowler. Mike’s personality is very laid back and he enjoys people. He is a big reason why SOS has been very successful, everyone knows Mike and respects him. He currently lives in Oceanside, Ca. You will find him often at 24 hour fitness working out. His favorite color is green because he is Irish and often wears green colors. Mike has 1 sister and no brothers. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad and has attended some college classes at Palomar College in San Marcos. He’s a great guy and a great Host. Come on out and meet him.
